Expanding field surveys, community engagement, climate adaptation, and sustainable development.
EDEN co-organized and implemented Phase 3 - the third stage of the Global Immersion Guarantee (GIG) Program in Vietnam, established through the collaboration between the Mekong Institute at Can Tho University and international partners. Taking place from January 9 to January 12, 2026, the program welcomed over 110 students and staff members from Monash University. EDEN played a central role in coordinating and managing academic activities, fieldwork, and overall program engagement.
To continue providing students with a multi-dimensional perspective on climate change, sustainable livelihoods, water governance, and community resilience in the Mekong Delta, seamlessly integrating academic exchange, field surveys, and cultural-community immersion.
Phase 3 was delivered effectively through a combination of academic sessions, visits to flood-mitigation infrastructure, community-based experiences, and thematic consultations. Students gained deeper practical insight into climate adaptation and the vital role of local communities. EDEN’s active involvement ensured smooth and professional operations, strengthened stakeholder connectivity, and laid a solid foundation for the upcoming final phase.
